Lojong: Points 5 & 6 of Seven Point Mind Training - Week 2

  • Sukhasiddhi Foundation P.O. Box 151327 San Rafael, CA, 94915 United States (map)

Multiple Dates: April 21, April 28, May 5, May 12, May 19, May 26

The Seven Point Mind Training, or Lojong, is a practice that is central to the bodhisattva path in which we train our minds to respond to daily circumstances with wisdom and compassion through the use of short, impactful aphorisms. These phrases help us to embrace every aspect of our experience and to recognize adversity as a means for spiritual development by prompting reflection, encouraging altruism, patience, and the dissolution of self-centeredness. They serve as practical reminders to infuse every moment with compassion, develop resilience in challenging situations, and foster a mindset dedicated to the well-being of all beings.

The upcoming Spring class series will be focused on Points 5 & 6 which help us to gauge our proficiency with the practice and show us how to further integrate this perspective into our lives. Each class will include Tonglen meditation, teachings, experiential exercises, and opportunities for discussion and integration.

Fee: $225 | $300 (benefactor) | $185 (base) | $170 (members only)

The deadline to register is Saturday, April 20 at 12 PM (Pacific).
