Clear Light Institute presents:
Compassion In Action
Preparing Your Advance Health Care Directive
Saturday, May 24 | 1 – 4 PM Pacific
at Wisdom River Meditation Center
“We are so lightly here. It is in love that we are made; in love we disappear.”
How many times have you thought about an Advance Health Care Directive and thought, “Yeah, I really should do that”? And yet you still haven’t done it. Or you have been meaning to update one you did years ago and haven’t gotten around to it. You are not alone in putting it off! Most of us find other things to do with our time rather than consider our own death.
As Buddhist practitioners, we begin every practice by calling up our bodhicitta intention, the altruistic motivation to benefit all beings. One of the ways that we can put our bodhicitta into practice, right here, right now, is to prepare and have a current Advance Health Care Directive, completed and filed. Not only does this benefit us by clarifying our wishes, but also enormously benefits our loved ones and health care providers by giving them guidelines for our care if and when we are no longer able to communicate.
We invite you to join us for a half-day workshop where we will discuss end of life planning, review the decisions to be made and begin the process of filling out your Advance Health Care Directive. Often, this process can seem daunting when approached individually. But in a group setting we can find the support and courage to help us move through the hard stuff and motivate us to get it done.
Fees:
$75 workshop fee
$50 base fee
$108 benefactor
Note: all fees are tax deductible donations
Registration closes Friday, May 23 at 6 PM Pacific.
Please Note: This is only an in-person event.
